Help with Addictions
Addictions
Have you let your addiction get out of control ?
You don’t have to be weak minded to have addictions, it can slowly creep up on the strongest of people without them knowing. Before you know it, addictions is spiraling out of control, becoming something you can’t do without.
This pattern can be broken using proven techniques under Hypnosis and combining NLP. Listed below are four examples with the processes used applicable to many other addictions.
Don’t forget, you can get addicted to anything !!
Here are some common examples…
Chocolate
To those unfamiliar with this problem, addiction to chocolate may seem trivial. In extreme cases, though, it can be life threatening.
Most clients I see for this are not at the point of killing themselves, but simply have a habit of eating too much chocolate, often several times a day, every day.
The easiest, most straightforward way of treating specific food addictions is to use simple aversion, using basic techniques to associate chocolate with something you would find very unpleasant to eat.
I have noticed with clients that I have helped in this way that they do not subsequently feel disgust or revulsion when they see chocolate, it is just as if all desire to eat it has faded away and is neutralised.
This is just one method of many that can be used.
Usually this is a one session treatment, although occasionally it takes two or three to ‘reinforce’ the new way of thinking.
Cannabis
There are many methods of getting you to stop smoking cannabis.
By utilising a combination of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis, the urge to take the drug is addressed directly, as is the fear of what life will be like without it.
Taking cannabis can develop into a habit that spans decades. Some people I have helped so far have allowed it to become a way of life, increasing their intake over the years as their body’s ‘resistance’ to the drug had built up.
The good news is that it is very possible to end the addiction quickly and easily and over the sessions (I recommend three), I work through a host of approaches to cover virtually any situation. As with getting someone to stop smoking cigarettes, different people respond differently to the work. Some just stop taking the drug immediately and are amazed that they experience a total absence of cravings. Some have no cravings for a day or two, and then suddenly get a day of intense cravings for which they need help managing and overcoming. Some continue to crave marijuana for a while but now find that they have the mental flexibility to deal with these feelings until they subside.
As with all drug related work there is no 100% guarantee of success due the high level of physical withdrawal, though NLP and Hypnosis combined offer a powerful combination to give your conscious and unconscious mind the tools to make the change take place.
Cocaine
This may sound obvious but the first thing is that you really must want to stop. There is a big difference between wanting to stop and ‘really’ wanting to stop, with the nature of this addiction the latter must be the case. Presumably, if you are reading this section it is because you want to end the addiction, you hopefully have reached the point where you have said to yourself ‘enough is enough’.
You may have said that to yourself many times before, though, on many occasions, and have found yourself drawn back into the habit by friends, at a party, or simply from a desire to re-experience that rush or ‘high’. If you have taken large amounts of cocaine over a long period you may have stopped experiencing any kind of high whatsoever or at least the feeling is nowhere near what it was like. You may have tried taking larger quantities to ‘relive’ that past feeling with little or no result.
Combining the approaches of Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming I aim to recondition the automated patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour that have resulted in the addiction to use cocaine. My approach is to tackle and change the pattern of thinking directly because, however the behaviour began, it has become simply a habit. You maybe using large quantities but even if this is the case, it has to be treated as just a habit, no more, no less.

It surprises people how quickly they can put and end to this habit, sometimes in one session, more often in-between two to three.
Smoking
Learn the real truth about the habit – Smoking is easier to give up than you thought.
After extensive research and training I can offer the correct therapy to help you achieve your goal, leaving behind this life threatening, expensive habit.
Why Hypnotherapy ?
The downside with Nicotine patches and most other therapies is that they deal only with the physical side (the addiction to nicotine) and not the habit. Hypnosis and NLP deals directly with this. The habit is the core problem with about 95% of smokers as the main withdrawal from nicotine only lasts for a few days.
Now, try and think of something good about Smoking ?
Most smokers believe that the main benefit for them is that it relaxes them. Let’s get this misconception right; smoking simply won’t relax you. Nicotine is a stimulant and has the opposite effect, raising the heart rate and blood pressure.
You have a learnt association between smoking and relaxation, usually from the effect of taking a break or having ‘time out’ to smoke the cigarette. Having seen the advertising run by cigarette manufacturers reinforces this learnt belief coupled with other people ‘relaxing’ from the process of smoking has led the unconscious to believe that relaxation comes from smoking.
That’s when the habit forms; with the unconscious believing this is right for you. At this point you try and stop, and then you find out you just ‘can’t do it’.
Together we ‘re-frame’ your way of thinking and how you view Smoking, making permanent change possible.
During the consultation, I will take your carbon monoxide reading and after a week of you giving up I will invite you back to be re-tested. The results are amazing.
Within just 24 hours of successfully giving up the positive benefits start. Your blood pressure will be near normal, your pulse rate will drop, your hands and feet will be warmer, nerve endings will start to repair and you’ll be at lower risk of heart attack. After a week your senses of taste and smell will dramatically improve, your bronchial tubes will relax making you less short of breath. Three months, your lung capacity would have increased by one third, circulation and stamina greatly improved and an overall feeling of better health evidently there.
If you consider yourself ‘too strong-willed’, or have tried Hypnotherapy before and it has not helped you, then this could be the answer. The truth will be revealed, as to why you smoke and to why you have not been able to give up.
